If you think there's nothing more exhilarating than speeding into the wild blue yonder in an open cockpit plane, there actually is something that can top that high. Try splashing down on the waterways of the Sacramento Delta, then taking off again in a sea plane! It's the rush of a lifetime, thanks to a new attraction, Delta SeaPlane Tours.

Delta Seaplane Tours are new flying adventures from pilot Jenni Martin, who began flying in the early 1970s in Southern California. She is an accomplished aviator who has a PA-39 Twin Piper Comanche, a Great Lakes aerobatics airplane, and Daisy, the amphibious craft that can take off and land on water.  Her aerial tour company showcases Central California, the Delta region and the San Francisco Bay Area.

Delta Seaplane Tours excursions feature Martin's knowledge of the landscape, including the capital region's agricultural roots and ties to an impressive levee system (featured in the news recently) along the Sacramento and American rivers.  An intricate web of Delta waterways, riverside communities and riparian habitats can be viewed from Daisy, and each fly-over includes an exciting water "splashdown". Sacramento Basic is a 50-minute flight from Sacramento's Executive Airport (FBO) with a scenic flight over the Delta region where the mighty Sacramento River joins the American River, just above old Sacramento and Old Town. View the capitol as few ever enjoy - from above! Leisurely meander the river, viewing Freeport, Clarksburg, and Courtland.

San Francisco Bay Tour is a 60-minute flight from North Oakland Airport FBO or Napa Valley Airport's Bridgeport Flying Services to fly-overs of the Bay Bridge, Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Angel Island, San Francisco City Highlights, Mothball Fleet, and a splashdown. (Pickups can also be arranged at Concord, San Carlos, or Gnoss Field, by request.) Where to stay when making this a great getaway is up to you.
