Rossmoor is an unincorporated, five square mile area
consisting of over 3,400 homes situated on long, tree-lined streets in
Orange County, just five miles from the beach. Residents of Rossmoor, along
with residents of Los Alamitos, love their communities.
Built in 1957 as tract housing, many of the original Rossmoor houses are
being replaced with custom-built homes. Large lot sizes, the community's
convenient location to freeways and excellent schools make this a highly
desired location. There are five elementary schools and two neighborhood
parks over one acre in size each. High school students attend the award
winning Los Alamitos High School, an esteemed and well-regarded institution
known throughout the region. Los Alamitos High School has been named a
California Distinguished School three times.

It is also a three time National Blue Ribbon School and home
to the Orange County School for the Arts. Focus on children is apparent with
numerous community programs such as "Kids Night Out".

enjoy many events at the Rossmoor Library or take advantage of the beautiful
Rossmoor Park with tennis courts where you can sign up to play free of charge, a

The Los Alamitos Race Course features Quarter Horse, Arabian and Thoroughbred

Just over 7 miles away is the Cerritos Center for the PerfoRMing Arts. Offering
the best performing artists in music, dance and theater with entertainers like
Johnny Mathis, Collin Raye, BBC Symphony, Tommy Tune, Stars of the Kirov Ballet
and New York City Opera, Cerritos Center was named "Venue of the Year" by
Performance Magazine. Hailed as an architectural wonder, the Center's flexible
auditorium can be rearranged into six intimate seating configurations ideal for
every performance.

Rossmoor and Los Alamitos are located in close proximity to the 605 (San
Gabriel) Freeway, the 22 (Garden Grove) Freeway, and the 405 (San Diego)
Freeway. The 5 (Santa Ana) Freeway and the 91 (Riverside) Freeway are located
five miles to the north. The Long Beach Airport is five miles west of the city;
and John Wayne (Orange County) Airport is fifteen miles south. |
