“Woo Hoo!” for the Simpsons--TV’s longest
running series and its amazing successes will be celebrated in an interactive
ride at not one, but two Universal Studios theme parks on both the East and West
Coasts. Guests at Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort
will be able to take a hysterical adventure through Springfield, thanks to the
concepts of Krusty the Clown.
The Simpsons attraction is a collaboration
between The Simpsons Creator and Executive Producer Matt Groening and Executive
Producer James L. Brooks. Within this ride will be recognizable characters (all voiced by the
original actors) and storylines from the popular cartoon show will allow
audiences and fans of this somewhat adult humor half hour program to share an
inside track with their favorites personalities.
The ride is designed to duplicate the Simpsons home-viewing experience, only at
high speed and with lots of screaming. Not far from a 20th season, the Simpsons
features a not-so-typical family comprised of a simple-minded father who works
in a nuclear energy facility, a mother with and incredible stack of blue hair
and dedication to doing the right thing, a conniving son, Bart, who takes after
Dennis the Menace, his sister, Lisa, the smart one, and Maggie, a baby that
never seems to grow or mature. Suspended in a time, these characters reflect
contemporary themes in experiences that range from joining a religious cult to
sharing life's daily musings in an unusual manner.
Universal Studios Hollywood includes a movie-based theme park and Studio Tour,
the CityWalk entertainment, shopping and dining complex, the Universal Cinemas
and the Gibson Amphitheatre concert and special event venue. The theme park
features the groundbreaking attractions “Revenge of the Mummy—The Ride,” “Shrek
4-D,” “Jurassic Park—The Ride” and the world-renowned Studio Tour, which takes
guests behind-the-scenes of such landmark TV and movie locations and sets as
Steven Spielberg’s “War of the Worlds.” CityWalk features 65
entertainment-themed restaurants, nightclubs, shops and dynamic entertainment
options. The Universal CityWalk Cinemas, which includes California’s largest
IMAX venue, features the best movie-going experience in Los Angeles.
