If you love B&B
luxury, you'll have to forgo foo-foo crocheted doilies and clutter when staying
at the Rainbow Inn in Idyllwild. Trading in knick-knacks and dollies for the finer things such as
artwork by another Dali—Salvador,
that is, you'll discover unique sculptures and limited edition art adorning the tasteful walls of
a 5 bedroom
property that's nestled amongst a forest of cool, tall pines. The Rainbow Inn on
Strawberry Creek is the slightly upscale "inn" place to unwind in an environment
that does not overwhelm you with "noise."
This "home away
from home" offers all the amenities guests want, minus the fuss. For those who
avoid B&B's
where you must pass by the owner throughout the day and stop to talk, proprietors Lon and John are always on call to help make your stay
memorable—but
they leave you alone until you knock on the door of their personal quarters. Maid service, extra linens
and towels are available
upon request but are not offered unless you ask. It's the kind of place you can
enjoy without having to stress about the maid arriving to boot you out of your
cozy room. Privacy is the ultimate luxury in a house that offers decorator
rooms with baths, quality beds and linens, serene wooded views and a huge second
story living room with spacious outdoor decks.
Before heading outside to sit in a comfy
lawn chair where summer sunshine or a light dusting of winter snow greets you,
grab yourself a mug of hot cocoa, flavorful tea, decaf or regular coffee.
Beverages are available at your beckoning at the Rainbow Inn, where life easy. In a mountain town
known for its environmentally-sensitive practices, guests appreciate the no-stress
lifestyle.
Some say it's boring, in fact. If you
don't like mountain hikes, towering forests, dining, shopping and just relaxing,
Idyllwild may not be your best choice. Or maybe it is. Escapees from city life
and stressful jobs flock to the mountain resort to unwind and re-group.
Rainbow Inn owner/partner Lon left a high
stress administrative position in Palm Springs to grab some quality of life on
the mountain. He is but one example of the many residents and visitors who eagerly embrace
mountain ways.
Hotel accommodations in Idyllwild are
primarily private bed and breakfast inns or rustic cabins. Expect sellout
crowds during high
seasons and holidays, such as Thanksgiving or Christmas. And, while the best deals are available on weekdays when
there are normally plenty of rooms, call any time you get the urge to escape
L.A., Orange County, San Diego or Palm Desert no more than an hour to two
away.
When you investigate the many mountain
resort options in
Idyllwild, you'll discover the Rainbow Inn is the "inn" place that offers
comfort, quality, privacy, affordable prices and close proximity to downtown
shops, dining, art galleries and movies.
