Placentia is located 5 miles from Disneyland Resort and Downtown Disney (above) in Anaheim.

Placentia, "A Pleasant Place", has a small town warmth and a strong community spirit with numerous  parks and open space to a mostly residential area. Events such as the annual Heritage Festival and Street Faire showcase the city's assets. Placentia began as a land grant comprised of Placentia, Anaheim, Fullerton, La Habra and Yorba Linda in 1837 when the Mexican Governor granted Rancho San Juan Cajon De Santa Ana to Juan Ontiveros. Daniel Kraemer purchased 3900 acres in 1865 and other settlers such as William McFadden acquired 100 additional acres. In 1876 the area was named "Placentia", derived from a Spanish word meaning "pleasant place to live".

Placentia persuaded the Santa Fe Railroad to re-route their track with a station built and packing houses  established for the town's growing citrus industry. A.S. Bradford laid out the main streets and, in his honor, Bradford Avenue retains his name today.

Incorporated in 1926, the area's mild climate was suited for citrus, walnuts, avocados and grape crops, making Placentia the center of Valencia orange growing and packing.

Today, Placentia is still a fast-growing community of 45,000 residents, with beautiful suburban homes, good schools, stately churches, and wholesome recreation.

Placentia has three nice hotel properties that allow you to enjoy the local tour attractions such as Disneyland, Anaheim Angels Stadium, Cal State University Fullerton and easy access to Amtrak train station.
