Pacific Grove
public golf course offers spectacular views of
the Pacific Ocean framed by pines. Sunsets and
afternoon mists as the waves crash on the rocky
cliffs near the course catch the sunlight, much
as the filtered sun sifts through trees and
lights up the course in warm tones of yellows
and reds.
While deer can be
seen throughout the day, staying on the
perimeter of the course safely away from errant
golf balls and people, they enjoy the pre-dawn
and sunset hours when the grazing is good. You
can get fairly close to them--close enough to
take photos. Deer don't like photo lenses
pointed at them and tend to move away from a
huge telephoto but they generally will watch you
and continue to dine.
