Opened in 1990, the Ventura County Maritime Museum
contains nautical displays such as model ships, art and maritime exhibits.
The ALMAR collection is comprised of 58 works, dating from 1700 to the
present. Master modeler Edward Maple's detailed ships are on display, as are
marine paintings, engravings and an historical timeline dating from 4000 BC
in a collection, Genealogy of the Ship. Ventura County Maritime Museum is
