Though part of the City of Santa
Maria, "Old Western Town" Orcutt is unique and individualistic.
It features its own downtown region that looks like
a stage set out of a Western movie. The primarily residential bedroom
community in northern Santa Barbara County has managed to enter the 21st
century with landmarks intact, and most are thankful for that.
Considered a highly desirable area
to live, Orcutt
is nestled in the Santa Maria Valley, south of Santa Maria along Highway
101. Housing developments, a school district and various community organizations
such as Orcutt Horseshoe Club offer residents the best of both worlds.
They can partake in very local activities at home or drive one to five
minutes to libraries, shopping malls and centers and museums located next
door in Santa Maria.
Bordered to the south by Clark Avenue and to the north
by Blosser Avenue, locals are familiar with one of the best restaurants
in the region, "Jacks." This casual, two-room dining facility offers
a large variety of American favorites and monster sandwiches (including
Reuben Sandwich), soups, salads and large servings of pie displayed in
a tall, refrigerated glass case as you walk in the door. People often order
a single serving of pie heaped high with meringue and split it. Haven
eaten in Jack's a few times, I've always seen at least one person in my
group go home with leftovers. Jack's Restaurant & Bakery

Orcutt was founded in 1904 by a William Warren Orcutt,
a Union Oil geologist who discovered oil in the town. The fertile land
was used primarily for farming at the turn of the 20th century and farming
continued as a commercial endeavor until housing demand drove up the cost
of land. Known for its quality of education, Orcutt is a community
where family life is a way of life.
Where to stay when visiting
Orcutt on the Central California--as of now, there are no online
hotels we offer for booking in Orcutt, a part of Santa Maria.
Nearby hotels that are quite popular in Santa Maria include the
