Oceanside Harbor is an entertainment center located a
short distance from the San Diego 5 Freeway and right next to the beach.
It includes a lighthouse, restaurants, gift shops and fishing excursions
and boat tours.. From fine dining in restaurants such as the Chart
House or fish and chips, burgers, ice cream and sandwiches at indoor/outdoor
cafes with umbrella shaded tables overlooking the harbor, the scent of
food will make you want to stop and eat. Aromas floating through the air
include fried fish & chips, charbroiled fish and steaks and gourmet
grind coffees.
Harbor Village shops sell souvenirs, gift cards, clothing
and a variety of unique nautical gifts. A special annual event is Harbor
Days, held the 3rd weekend in September.
This girl is getting a wrap at one of the kiosk shops
in the harbor. Charged at approximately $2 per inch, the stylist said that
if taken care of, this can last for up to 6 months. He estimated
this one would cost around $20.
Oceanside's Harbor Marina has sloops ranging in length
from 25-51 feet. This mecca for sportfishing, whale watching, boating and
other water-oriented activities offers daily outings which range from a
few dollars to a full day of fishing for around $50 Transient moorings
and limited RV beach camping are available.
