Oceanside--With over 3.5 miles of white sandy
beaches, Oceanside is the place for sunning, surfing, and sports.
Harbor beach alone offers more than 16 acres of clean level sand,
and handicap “sand" wheel chairs are available for use at each
lifeguard tower.
The Strand is the main road which runs
along the beach front. There is some pay parking and also free parking at
the top of the hill.
Oceanside beaches are very special. A small
town feel and relaxed atmosphere you usually won't experience in Los
Angeles beaches makes you want to stay a while to enjoy the intimate, yet
open feel of perfect spot on the California Coast. In addition to
sand volleyball courts, you'll find over 50 fire rings available on a
first come first serve basis.
If you breeze by Oceanside on the San
Diego 5 Freeway, you might not guess that such scenic beauty exists. Like
so many coastal treasures, the freeway view offers few clues as to what is
available beyond the exit ramps. Many people have reported
passing through on their way to San Diego or Los Angeles, but never
stopping to explore cities such as Oceanside and San Clemente. Do it
now. They are worth the time.
