Ocean Beach - Lompoc
LOMPOC--Ocean Beach is located near,
Lompoc California on the Pacific Ocean. It is a rugged beach that enjoys
cool temperatures, breezes and a variety of wildlife. At the west
end of Ocean Avenue, Lompoc. Approx. 13 miles west, make a right turn
onto Ocean Park Road. Or to get to the beach where access is permitted,
keep going on Ocean Ave. until you cannot go any further, and you are
there.

About: Ocean Beach (Surf) is the closest beach to Lompoc. The park
section has picnic tables, restrooms, and barbecues. Swimming at Ocean
Beach is not recommended due to very dangerous currents, and the absence
of lifeguards. If you do choose to go out, please be careful and never
go alone. It is good for surf-fishing, taking walks, and whatever else
one may choose to do. Access to certain parts of the beach is restricted
because of the endangered Snowy Plover.

When
visiting Ocean Beach youu'll discover the water is
usually fairly cold in addition to the strong currents.
Sometimes you'll see tagged or untagged animals
such as coyotes wandering around. The are part of the nature's
balance in this neck of the beaches.
