Nestled in the San Bernardino mountains is Big Bear Lake. It took several years for the Northwoods Resort to be built but it was well worth the wait..  It is located next door to shopping and theaters but is set back and buffered from the Big Bear Boulevard noise, unlike other hotels. 




With on premise conference facilities, restaurant dining and catering, a gift shop, swimming pool and exercise room, this is the finest place in all of Big Bear Lake. Rooms and suites are available.  The suite I stayed in had the best king size bed I have ever found in the city of Big Bear Lake.  It was on par with the bed at Ritz Carlton, Kapalua, Hawaii, firm but not hard.  Top of the line!

Big Bear Lake is best known for its winter sports and ski slopes. Northwoods Resorts is very popular and often completely booked in the winter.  But it is equally interesting in the summer months.  I took pictures of the resort to help promote this season which provides opportunities for boating, hiking, mountain biking, parasailing, fishing, horseback riding and much more.   A zoo, museum, golf course, chair lift rides and downtown shops with two movie theaters make for a perfect summer vacation or weekend getaway for the Los Angeles crowd.
