Monterey
Photos
If you don't close
your balcony door at the
Monterey Bay Inn or other hotels situated along the
bay in Monterey, the sound of seals and sea lions barking
all night long can definitely keep you awake. But who cares?
It's a sound that many of us do not have the pleasure of
listening to most of our lives and for just a night, it's
well worth the interruption in the routine.
As a result of this
restless sleep, something else happened to me which I found
quite delightful. I awoke early to the sun coming up on the
bay outside my hotel room. Above is the photo I took in my
sleepy stupor. A flower box filled with red geraniums framed
the view of the orange sunrise on the Monterey Bay.
The hotel itself is
ideally located. It is an extremely popular property within
walking distance of the Monterey Bay Aquarium, shopping at
the Steinbeck Plaza, dining and the bay that tourists
come to see.
Parking can be a
challenge, so the hotel features subterranean parking with
elevators going to the various floors of the hotel.
There are many less
expensive hotels, and high-end properties nearby, but
for those willing to pay a bit higher price than budget
offerings, buy yourself one heck of a location that allows
you to listen to and see what people love so much about
Monterey.
