Welcome to a place that feels like home. Beautiful
bay windows, immaculate appointments and classic crown moldings are a
few of the fine details you'll enjoy at The Monterey Hotel. Located
in the heart of historic Monterey, there's a movie theatre next door, a
variety of pubs, shops and even Starbucks Coffee a few steps out your hotel
door. And there's even a Farmer's Market held on the street outside once
a week. When the barbecued beef wafts upward in the air and the homemade
rootbeer begins to flow, you know you've got to leave your room and go
downstairs to check it out.
This hotel is located near the Marriott Hotel. More intimate
and personal, we credit the management for running a top operation at this
location. Ask the staff about Fred when you visit. It seems that funny
things happen at the hotel such as "Do Not Disturb" signs getting switched
on door knobs. Fred once served as the hotel's maintenance director.
Some believe the ghost of Fred lives on and and helps maintain the property.
We neither saw nor heard anything unusual during our pleasant visit.
But if you want to call out the spirits, maybe Fred will answer your call.
Then again, how hard is it to switch signs on doors without anyone
noticing?
Do you believe ghosts exists? Many guests to hotels and haunted places in
