With its broad public pathways which can be used by rollerbladers and cyclists alike, this park is the ideal place for those who love to be outdoors.

The Marina Green park is lined on one side by magnificent houses built in the 1920s and 1930s. The bay side of the park features marinas which are home to both the St. Francis Yacht Club and the Golden Gate Yacht Club. The green is a bustling area on the weekends where many events, including many races, are held.

The green sits near a beautiful beach where visitors can watch windsurfers and sailboarders float across the bay. A small, sunny area at the end of Marina Green features volleyball courts and sun bathing areas. Kite enthusiasts can enjoy the ocean breeze and the huge green expanse which is a great place to fly their kites. Dog lovers can also use the park to enjoy a day out in the sun.

Nearby Chestnut Street has a variety of ethnic restaurants serving very affordable meals. It is also a wonderful place for family picnics and is also very close to the Exploratorium, which is a kid-friendly science museum at the Palace of Fine Arts. Countless shops line Union and Chestnut Streets where visitors can find unique boutiques and distinctive specialty shops. There are so many things to do in San Francisco.

At the end of Marina Boulevard is the Presidio, a former army base. Visitors can enjoy the historic sites, the nature walks, and Baker Beach, a nude beach. The Presidio connects the Marina Green Beach to the west side of San Francisco where Golden Gate Park is situated.

Free parking is available at the marina. The public restrooms are well maintained; however, there are no showers for public use.

Marina Green Beach is located on Marina Boulevard between Fort Mason and Scott Street. For those coming from the Los Angeles or Southern California area, take the I-5 North toward Sacramento then follow signs for San Francisco and merge onto I-580 West. After taking the exit for I-80 West toward San Francisco, look for the exit onto Highway US-101 North toward the Golden Gate Bridge. Get off at exit 434 A and merge onto US-101 N/Mission Street. After exiting US-101 N, turn left at South Van Ness Avenue and take another left at Lombard Street. Turn right onto Fillmore Street and then left at Marina Boulevard.
