Welcome to Main Street. Nearly every town has one but
we think this place is pretty special. One of the 10 safest cities in America
features a downtown with year round outdoor dining, Surf City shopping
and the ocean and pier in view.
If you've been to Huntington Beach, California, within the past 20
years, you may remember the Sugar Shack. It's still there and
now features outdoor tables for street-side dining. There are dozens of restaurants serving meals outdoors
on Main Street: Longboard Restaurant and Pub, Mo's BBQ, Spiral Sushi, Tuna
Town, Avila's El Ranchito, Luigi's, Hurricane's, Fred's Mexican
Food, BJ's Pizza, HB Beer Company and Jersey Joe's, to name some. Year
round perfect weather makes it possible to eat outside nearly anytime.
On your Main Street stroll you'll likely see swimsuits,
surf boards, people walking their dogs, cars, bicycles and lots of smiles.
Those who grow up in Huntington Beach experience a cultural shock when they visit other cities. Kids growing up in
"HB" think nothing of putting on their best swimsuit to dress up and go out.
People wave and say hello to their neighbors and friends
on Main Street. It's a "feel good" kind of place. Being on Main makes people
happy. If you need to rejuvenate and prioritize the things important in
your life, go down to Main Street and buy yourself a meal. When life gets
a little too busy, we tell our friends to meet us on Main Street. A nice
meal, walk to the pier and the ocean air makes everything feel right.
Welcome to Main Street, USA!
