Hyatt Regency La Jolla reservations . The relatively new Hyatt in La Jolla gets high marks for its appointments, amenities and accommodations. It is visible on the east side of the San Diego 5 Freeway in the northern area of the city's La Jolla region, an unincorporated community that carries status as a highly desirable, but expensive place to live in San Diego. 

 

The hotel and surrounding condominium complexes, office parks and shops are very nice and provide the feel (albeit taller) of planned communities such as Irvine in Orange County.  As you step out of your car to check your bags with the valet service (self parking is available, too), you might smell the aroma of steaks from Flemings, across the street in a small shopping plaza. The restaurant provides an option to the hotel's own grill and also serves drinks.  It is an easy walk across and quite convenient. 

 

The Hyatt Regency serves a healthy business crowd with a large exercise facility behind the hotel.  For vacation travelers, the Hyatt offers a location ideal for day trips to Legoland in Carlsbad, Disneyland in Orange County and San Diego's attractions such as Sea World, Wild Animal Park and the San Diego Zoo.  If you care about two versus four diamond ratings, you'll understand why it costs a bit more to stay here and you'll chose this hotel to get those extras.
