For adventurous vacationers in California looking for a return to nature, Little Fisherman's Cove beach on Catalina Island offers beautiful scenery and plenty of trails to explore. The narrow isthmus is ideal harbor for boaters looking to anchor and enjoy a wonderful day trip from the mainland. Just outside the small town of Two Harbors, Little Fisherman's Cove offers many hillside campsites within earshot of the ocean's roar. Looking out over the beach with dozens of small sailboats at anchor in the blue water, you might be tempted to turn off your cell phone and stay longer than you planned.
Little Fisherman's Cove offers anchorage for boaters and the small island is perfect for yachters seeking some inland adventures. One day is plenty of sightseeing time for hiking and mountain biking, since all the charming island communities are quite close together. Most of the hiking trails are popular with campers and can be quite crowded. Respect for the island natives is recommended, since trails can run up against private property. Those wishing for some privacy should visit the island in the winter when the temperatures are still pleasant but the island less frequented. Little Fisherman's Cove also offers wonderful shallow-water snorkeling in the blue waters of the cove.
Those driving or on foot must catch a Catalina Express ferry from the California port of San Pedro to Two Harbors. These ferries run twice daily. From Two Harbors, it is only a short walk east to the campsites at Little Fisherman's Cove.
Santa Catalina Island is waiting for you to discover its coastal treasures!
