Little Balboa Island
in photos shown
above is long on charm. It is a small
strip of land that's a residential section and part of manmade Balboa
Island, joined by a two lane bridge on Park Avenue that crosses the Grand
Canal.
The narrow Grand Canal waterway, Balboa Island and Little
Balboa Island are all regions of the City of Newport Beach. Balboa Island is
1¾ miles in circumference while Little Balboa Island is just ¾ mile. The two
combined contain over 1,450 homes. Operating much as a separate city, Balboa
and Little Balboa share a unique shopping district on Marine Avenue and
enjoy strong participation in a Business Association that promotes shopping,
lifestyle quality and events for tourists and locals to enjoy and share.
Two favorite
Newport Beach Hotels
in
Balboa include
The Balboa Bay Club and
Balboa Inn. While there are actually no hotels
directly on Balboa Island, you'll find it surrounded by hotels in Newport Beach,
the vacationer's choice.
Balboa Island's charm and Little
Balboa's tucked away homes make the residents proud and even a little
old-fashioned at times. Major holidays are seen as opportunities to pull out
all the stops in home and boat decorating. Christmas, Halloween, Valentine's
Day and the 4th of July all provide opportunities to show your creative side
on Little Balboa Island.
If you don't find the decorating items
you require on Marine Avenue, just a few blocks away on Balboa, you may look
far and wide to come up with something special and unique to make the
holiday great.
