Le Montrose Suite Hotel is located down the street and around the block from the more budget-oriented Valadon Hotel. The recently-renovated LE Montrose includes warm tones with decor that includes brown, gold, suede and accents of white, tan and sand colors.

Bedding and drapes are modern designs and the furniture is not unlike what you'd see in a Four of Five Diamond Chinese or Asian-style hotel room or suite.

On premise in this efficient boutique property is a small restaurant, small bar with tables and plasma TVs and a darkly-lit but nicely decorated lobby.

Making use of its limited space, Le Montrose Suite Hotel is tucked into a neighborhood next to a school.  Like most West Hollywood hotels, you'll be tempted to park your car and leave it.  The parking is scant and quite expensive if you are issued a ticket.  Within walking distance of a few blocks uphill is Sunset Strip and downhill is Melrose Ave. where the Pacific Design Center is located.

We tried to stay at Le Montrose on a recent visit but it was fully booked. We hope to get a chance to stay there next time around. It's quite comfortable and ideally located. While a room at the Valadon Hotel was significantly less expensive, you could smell cigarette smoke in the hallways and the rooms were somewhat dated in appearance, though a renovation was in the works.  We liked the price of the Valadon and would go back as the bed was very nice. But, Le Montrose is also worth investigating.
