Sometimes there's a hotel right in front of you that
you totally overlook. This is one of those really great deals we recommend
for the beach crowd who can still be at a harbor and not far from some
very fine beaches. You'll save money here, get so many great restaurants
around you and have the Aqualink water taxi that takes you to Queen Mary,
the boat to Catalina Island and Aquarium of the Pacific. There are also
harbor charters for parties, fishing and scuba trips, Naples Gondola
rides nearby, Mother's Beach across a walking allowed bridge, Seal Beach
across another walking allowed bridge and Huntington Beach down Pacific
Coast Highway about 8 miles.
This hotel offers some harbor views and a weekly Farmer's
Market on Sundays in the parking lot of the Alamitos Landing across the
street. We'd like to recommend our favorite restaurants Mimi's and
Schooner or Later you can walk to. There's also Market Place across
the street one way. It has a movie theatre, shops and restaurants. Across
the street another direction is Marina Pacifica with another movie theatre,
shops and restaurants, too. Finally, if all this appeals to you, there's
a red bus that transports tourists to Belmont Shore 2nd Street shops and
restaurants, downtown Long Beach and Aquarium of Pacific. And there's Orange
County Transit buses to take you all the way down the coast to any beaches
you want. We really can't think of a better located hotel for a variety
of activities and enjoyment.
