Long Beach Convention
Center is the only one of two coastal convention centers with
ocean views and harbor frontage (the other is San Diego.)
Long Beach Convention Center, the long, tube-like building,
is a beautiful facility situated on Queensway Bay next door to Shoreline
Village shopping mall, world class Aquarium of the Pacific and historic
Queen Mary ship. Three exhibition halls with close to 224,000 square
feet of space can be utilized for all types of conventions, tradeshows,
consumer shows and special events. Business Office: 562-436-3636
The convention also includes Terrace Theater, a full production
theater that seats 3,051. The Terrace Lobby contains a full glass front
with a view of the Terrace fountain. There is an ocean view on the West
side of the facility and a downtown cityscape view from the front
of the theater.
The third element of the complex is Long Beach Arena,
a focal point to the dramatic Long Beach skyline. Cylindric in shape,
the outside is covered by the world’s largest mural, “Planet Ocean”,
which features an array of marine life by renowned artist, Wyland.
The Arena seats 13,500 and has 46,000 square feet of exhibit space.
The Arena concourse has 29,000 square feet of exhibit space. The
Arena Lobby has 19,000 square feet of additional space. Popular for
conventions and meetings, it also serves as home to a professional ice
hockey team, the Long Beach Ice Dogs.
The advantage to holding shows at this location is that
it is next to the ocean, beach, cruise and entertainment boats and ships
and one of the newest and finest aquariums, the Aquarium of the Pacific.
There are also downtown Long Beach restaurants for a variety of dining
and entertainment options.
