A beautiful day in
Laguna
Beach can bring out the artist in you. Set to the backdrop of beaches (over
20 of them!,) Laguna Beach has been known and recognized as
an artists' colony for over 100 years. For those who enjoy
art but cannot create, you've come to the right place to
view art, visit galleries, attend special art events and be
surrounded by art every where you look.
Many
known names or Who's Who figures in the art world sell their
creations in Laguna Beach. From Laguna Art Museum, to
Pageant of the Masters which is a stage production featuring
the great art works, Laguna Beach maintains a year round
schedule of art events.
All year long visitors can enjoy the
galleries, large street banners with unique art and the Art
Museum. The Laguna Beach Art Museum offer rotating display
featuring mixed media and a variety of themes. On one visit we saw a
surf art exhibition, which they said was new and wouldn't be
long-term. It featured pop art of the 60s culture, and was actually
quite interesting.
Seasonal events such a winter art festival, summer Sawdust
Festival and first Thursday ArtWalk, make Laguna a place to
enjoy and appreciate. While Laguna Beach sells the usual
tourist knick knacks and beach gifts, an extensive offering
of galleries and gifts stores with art sculptures, paintings
and artwork make Laguna the #1 Orange County destination for
art.
