Laguna Ballet continues a warm
tradition with the annual Nutcracker
performance Saddle Back College. Laguna
Ballet’s Annual Performance of The
Nutcracker (over 22 years running),
continues the tradition with the
Nutcracker performance the third week in December at their new location,
McKinney Theatre at Saddleback College
in Mission Viejo, California. Over 75
Orange County students come together
each year, under the direction of
Artistic Director Shery Gilbert, to
present this full length Nutcracker. The
lead role of Clara has been played by
Meghan McDonough and Sophia Romagnano.
Guest artists have included Miranda Weese, former New York City Ballet
principal and a principal with
Pacific Northwest Ballet, and Anton Pankevich of Pacific Northwest Ballet.
Pankevich performed both in 2007 and
2008. Proud to have Lauren Eggertsen,
Youth American Grand Prix Regional Semi
Finalist, she has performed in the role
as Sugar Plum Fairy along with all the
talented Laguna Ballet dancers.
Performances are held usually the 2nd or
3rd week of December.

Laguna Ballet is a non-profit junior
ballet company, comprised of children
ages 5-18, founded by Shery Gilbert.
Laguna Ballet in conjunction with the
school, Laguna Dance Theatre, provides
an exceptional environment where each
student receives the special care and
attention needed to become a self
confident dancer. Laguna Dance Theatre
is a pre-professional ballet school for
dancers aspiring for a career in dance,
or those dancers who simply want the
best dance experience, to raise their
self-esteem, develop discipline and
