Jazz
concerts in California can be held outdoors all year long thanks to
beautiful weather. One fantastic jazz series is organized by BBJAZZ, a
nonprofit, fund-raising group that donates proceeds to autistic children's
schools and services.
The series holds several concerts indoors
each year, but takes one very exciting and special event outdoors in Central
Park in Huntington Beach, California. Top artists such as Najee, Mindi Abair,
Warren Hill, Al Jarreau, and many, many more, have performed at this event,
which is usually held in September. While a basic ticket will buy you a seat
in the gated area where you can sit on a shaded lawn and watch, to get close
to the action requires an additional fee. Inside the main arena guests have
closer seating and viewing to the performers. Seats are provided in this
area and tables are offered to those who pay for VIP seating.
The brain child of a family with an
autistic son, and a several musicians, including a former member of Air
Supply, the event is a "must-see."
