Once  known as The Riot House, the antics of rock and roll musicians are now fodder for Starline Tours guides who drive by with vans of tourists, describing how Keith Richards of Rolling Stones once threw a TV  out a window and Jim Morrison of The Doors was evicted for bizarre behavior that kept the staff on edge as he dangled from his room ledge more than once, allegedly.

Hyatt's hard-earned reputation gained through Blood, Sweat & Tears has somewhat diminished as the rockers grew older, though the hotel continues to cope exceedingly well with an artistic audience. For guests seeking location, location, you can't beat the closest hotel to many of the clubs you've come to enjoy.  Starbucks Coffee is also outside the hotel door. That's a real perk.

About the billboards--it seems West Hollywood has a long history of billboards. You'll often find the side of the Hyatt Hotel building sporting an advertisement for a movie or new program. Sometimes the graphics are annoying, sometimes they're entertaining. But what drives them is money, lots of it.
