Huntington Beach, Calif.--Pizza Hut has always offered the right
combination of sweet and salt. A variety
of crust options, toppings and the use
of real olive oil on the crust makes a
popular pick up. Pictured above is the
personal pan pizza, which was a smaller
version of the Personal PANormous Pizza,
80% larger than the Personal Pan Pizza!

to change.) America's first pizza chain
is over 50 years old. The first Pizza
Hut opened in 1958 by two brothers in
Wichita, Kansas.
In
2009 Pizza Hut announced the first stage
in a menu-wide transition to pizzas made
entirely from natural ingredients, free
from artificial preservatives, colors
and flavors. 73% tested showed a strong
preference toward all-natural
ingredients, so Pizza Hut introduced
all-natural sauce from vine-ripened
tomatoes with no high-fructose corn
syrup; all-natural pepperoni with no
artificial preservatives, no nitrites or
nitrates added; all-natural Italian
sausage with no artificial colors,
flavors or preservatives; and 100% real
beef with no fillers. The Pizza Hut
pizza box is made from 40% recycled
materials.
Pizza Hut's migration toward real
ingredients began in 2008 when it
introduced The Natural(TM), a pizza with
all-natural ingredients, for a limited
time in select markets. The test of The
Natural was so successful that the
company decided to extend The Natural's
premise across its entire pizza line.
