Huntington Beach, Calif.--Huntington
Beach is uniquely sliced into
fingers and areas that make up
Huntington Harbour to the northwest.
The city ends at a bay and channel
that only gains access to the
Pacific Ocean by passing through a
region of the Seal Beach Naval
Weapons Station. Shown in the
photograph above are Huntington
Harbour homes on the waterways lined
with boat slips filled with yachts
and vessels, and buildings such as
the bright yellow hotel that line
Pacific Coast Highway. The homes on
the sandy beaches toward the top of
the photo are part of gated
Surfside, fronting the Pacific
Ocean. A landmark water tower (home)
is part of Seal Beach, and the
houses to the left are part of
Sunset Beach.
You can book rooms at two of the
most affordable beach hotels in
Huntington Beach shown in the
picture above. The bright yellow
building is the
Ocean View Motel and to its
right with the red, elongated roof
is the
Pacific View Inn and Suites. To
access the beach across the highway
from these hotels, you must head
toward the water tower, where
Anderson Street crosses Pacific
Coast Highway to the beach.
When other hotels in the city are
booked, these offer some of the best
prices, though it will be about a
seven mile trip to access downtown
Huntington Beach with Main Street
and Huntington Beach Pier. We've
visited both these hotels and motels
and find them clean, affordable and
in a category you might consider
beach budget.
