Huntington Beach, Calif.--Crabby's
Boat House is quite casual and fun. The
bar and restaurant combines indoor
and outdoor dining with cocktail
sipping, beer drinking and seafood and
steak meals. Casual faire and pricing is
the standard here. There is no live
music played (save that for the upstairs
bar at Hurricanes, or across the street
at Gallaghers Pub & Grill. Crabby's if
fairly small, but it's popularity is
huge.
I've tried the clam chowder soup, which
was pretty good. I went one day to the
see the crab races that they used to
offer once a week. Their daily events
now include one day of people watching,
one day of taco specials, an Italian
night, and other seasonal offerings.
Prices are mid-range, and the menu
includes clams and mussels lab tested to
be guaranteed free of bacteria,
exceeding national standards for such
fish. Check for specials that are
actually a heck of a deal. If you stick
with the specials, you'll save a lot of
money.
