A brightly colored
umbrella in the photo above lights up Huntington Beach
beaches
Umbrella on the sand in Huntington Beach is pictured
above. Passing by in the distance is a wetsuit-clad
surfer with his yellow and white striped surfboard, to
the backdrop the red-domed Ruby's Restaurant on the
Huntington Beach Pier. Peaking out of this scene is a
blue sky and darker blue ocean, the Pacific Ocean. This
photo was taken on a sunny winter day in Southern
California's Orange County.
Vacationers will find winters as nice as any time of
year and will especially enjoy the wide-open, somewhat
empty beaches that allow you if you're a little chunky
or overweight, a little shy or not willing to sunbathe
with the summer blonde beauties, to have it mostly to
yourself. What a time to have a vacation for
people who don't like crowds!
Huntington Beach, Calif.--Surfers, sand, sunshine and colorful
umbrellas are typical scenes from one
California Surf City in Huntington Beach. Taken
on a beautiful beach day, the picture
shows a wide-open beach with tons of sand to
sink your feet into. Beautiful and
relaxing, Southern California beaches enjoy
year-round warm weather ideal for vacations
and relaxation. Come to the beach to cool
your heels. It only takes one afternoon to
re-establish your connection with nature and
realize that the every day pressures of life
shouldn't be your primary focus.
Huntington Beach features 8.5 miles of beachfront that's
open to the public free. Parking is not free, however.
Prices range from 25cents per 10 or 15 minutes to around
$12 per day, depending on the time and season.
Shown
in the picture above is Huntington City Beach, one of
three beaches within the city bounds of Huntington
Beach. The other two are California State operated
beaches called Bolsa Chica State Beach and Huntington
State Beach.
Huntington City Beach and its pleasure pier offer a
relaxing environment to sunbathe, surf, skate, fly a
kite, dine, skate, ride a bike or just enjoy the
scenery.
