Volleyball
Sand Courts in California
Huntington
Beach, CA - A beach volleyball game among the 20
courts creates the atmosphere of a sand paradise
for beginning volleyball players and pros alike.
You'll find the nets clustered north and south of
the Huntington Beach Pier, which is located on
Pacific Coast Highway at Main Street
intersection. Parking next to both sets of nets
is available on an hourly basis, or in the
summer, charged at a flat fee. Throughout the
summer you'll find volleyball camps often fill
the courts during a few hours. Some of the
up and coming volleyball players get their start
at these outdoor nets where they practice in
conjunction with their indoor venues such as
school gyms.
Between the
pier and Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort &
Spa there's also a set of around a dozen nets,
plus more to the south at Huntington State Beach
(located on Pacific Coast Highway between Beach
Boulevard and Brookhurst). Hotels closest to the
volleyball nets and volleyball action include
the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa,
Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort and Best Western
Huntington Beach Inn.
If you're
visiting from elsewhere and don't have a
volleyball, you can rent one at the beach
concessions such as Zacks Beach Concessions.
With year-round sunny, warm climate, you can
play volleyball most days of the year and even
join in on games in progress. Several volleyball
competitions are held each year on the sunny
beaches of HB. Association of Volleyball
Professionals holds a tournament that's part of
an 18-cities tour, and is broadcast on network
television. Some of the top ranked world
volleyball players compete in this action-packed
event. And you can see them again at the Summer
Games held in conjunction with the US Open of
Surfing in July / August.
If you
love volleyball and want to play it throughout
California, there are dozens of locations
offering sand volleyball nets and games.
