Venice, California Travel Guide
Venice or Venice Beeach is home to Muscle Beach, is an exciting, popular beach city near Los Angeles, Santa Monica and Los Angeles International Airport. Venice Beach is best known for its scenic, canals, its pier and celebrity tourists and locals.

Venice is one of the Southern California cities that was marketed initially with the Italian theme to attract home buyers to the beach. Can you imagine a time when everyone wanted to live in the city close to jobs, and the beach was a remote place that was saved for vacations? With the price of gas rising to over $4 per gallon, there could be a return to that style of living. But Venice Beach is part residential and part urban in its economics. Located next door to Santa Monica, Venice is similar to Santa Monica for its focus on arts. Both cities attract talented art creators.

With the hussle and bustle of Los Angeles International Airport, the traffic which always seems to exist, and some driving around for parking, Venice's charms are discovered once you're able to park your car and wander. You can also rent a bicycle or roller blades and tackle a larger territory on a paved beach path that connects Venice to Santa Monica to the north and other cities to the south.

Venice has its own pier, surfing and sunbathing beaches that all can be easily seen during daylight flights arriving and departing Los Angeles International Airport when your aircraft swoops over the ocean in the surrounding region. If you have a window seat, look down and you'll see several piers. You'll know Venice Pier by its location south of Santa Monica Pier where the amusement park and Ferris wheel can faintly be seen from low flying commercial craft.
