Huntington Beach is known for it landmark pier, and it has wide, sandy beaches not far from Disneyland or Newport Beach's Catalina Island trips. 15 minutes from John Wayne / Orange County Airport, 40 minutes from Los Angeles International Airport, 40 minutes from Los Angeles nightlife, and two hours by car to San Diego, this Orange County beach city has come into its own as a weekend getaway. It was always known by vacationers as a cheap place to stop and enjoy swimming and beaches.

But the cheap days are being replaced with upscale as boutique hotels are increasing (will be four of them soon), and budget hotels disappear along the premier coastline.
