Corning in Northern California is a fabulous place to visit for farm fresh produce and great country living. Corning is known as Olive City. As you drive through the countryside and wide open space of the Northern California state known as the Shasta Cascade, you'll see a few road signs that announce your arrival at Corning, but you must exit the road, of course. The farm land and colors of the landscape come in wheat, rust colors most the year, and briliant greens in the spring. Temperatures are pretty warm in this region and the land, though fertile, relies on irrigation and external water sources for watering the crops. That's why you'll not see a huge amount of waste such as green lawns and grass lining the miles of expanse. Be sure to veer off the highway and check out this farming city which is growing.
