Artesia is located in the greater Los Angeles metro area features shopping, dining and is conveniently located to many L.A. attractions and activities.
Artesia got its name from the many Artesian wells that were so abundant during the formation of the modern day city. At the time these wells were discovered, farming was the primary industry of the late 1800s. The Artesia water tower bears the name of the city and sits at a spot where an Artesian well once sat. Featured in the movie, Freddie?s Dead: The Final Nightmare. This landmark is located at Clarkdale Avenue south of 183rd Street.
