Anderson, California Travel Guide
Anderson is the ideal place for travelers to stop and enjoy dining, tourist information and overnight accommodations near Redding. North of Sacramento, Anderson features mountains and houseboating in the Shasta Cascade boater's paradise. California Welcome Center is located in Anderson, offering maps, brochures, souvenir gifts and great instructions on how to get where you are going. For road travelers, Anderson is a wonderful place to stop and refresh even when you don't plan to spend the night. The Interstate 5 from Sacramento does offer many fantastic towns and farm-focused communities along the road. But Anderson features more of the chain restaurants and stores that some brand shoppers and diners seek. And if you're traveling from south to north, you'll discover just a ways up the road in Redding even more shopping, chain hotels and dining. Don't forget to check out the Sundial Bridge (an $18 million footbridge), and Turtle Bay Aquarium and McConnell Arboretum complex that surrounds the bridge.
