Adelanto, California Travel Guide
Adelanto in the sunny, high desert region welcomes visitors who enjoy a vacation filled with touring, shopping and relaxing. Located in San Bernardino County (home to mountain resorts) has elevations that range from 1,890 to 3,100 feet. Located 9 miles northwest of Victorville, the temp reaches over 100 degrees a full month; winter (Oct - Feb) nights drop as low as 15 degrees F. Visitors typically pass through Adelanto on a desert journey and casino vacation filled with gambling and fun in Las Vegas. Touting virtually smog free air, the city's temps range from 30 degrees F or -1 C in January to 96 F or 36 C during the hottest summer months. Rainfall is only 5.5 inches for the entire year--less than many cities experience in a single rain storm. As you can surmise, a need for umbrellas and rain gear is rare.

Trips to Adelanto most often are made during road excursions, special events activities and family visits. Offering an affordable road stop for weary travelers who need to park the car and rest, Adelanto is ideal for just such hotel reservations.

From the factoid files: Adelanto was founded by the man who invented the Hotpoint electric iron. He found the climate and environment so conducive to health, it was his dream to build a restful place that veterans of WWI could heal their wounds and souls. His dream was never realized, but the town did move forward, growing into a well rounded residential city, and an ideal place with a healthy lifestyle for all ages. One of the other bits of information that's interesting is the highway that runs by the city. Three Flags Highway, or Highway 395 connects Canada, the US and Mexico's Baja California.
