Solvang Travel Information

The Danish village of Solvang features popular treats, aebleskivers and the Swedish smorgasbord. While you'll continue to see families riding rented surrey bikes, and watch the kids as they stop to pick out a pumpkin on the road into town, more and more the tour buses and travelers flocking to this inland city that's approx. 40 minutes from the nearest beach in Lompoc, are adult travelers without children. They shop, they dine and they come for the annual events such as festivals surrounding Danish culture.

From a winter treelighting ceremony to special Danish Days with outdoor festivities, vendors and foods, Solvang seems to always offer something for vactioners and those on Southern California getaways. Just three hours from Orange County, and over two from L.A., you'll find Solvang north of Santa Barbara. When Solvang weekends are booked because of events, you may want to opt for a stay in Santa Barabara. Or you can drive north under an hour to the beach vacation spot, Pismo Beach.

Wine Valley Inn is a traditionally vintage Inn with uniquely private cottages surrounding a beautiful lush garden including walk over bridges and a Koi Pond. All cottages have fireplaces and fully equipped kitchenettes. Most have private Jacuzzis in a private deck yard. Each cottage varies from accommodating from 4 - 6 persons. Other accommodations include Chateau loft suit with a loft bedroom upstairs and full living room downstairs, each accommodating 4 persons. Another Chateau choice is our standard room. Just across the property are our Village fireplace deluxe rooms. These rooms all have a free standing fireplace and built around an historic clock that chimes every hour. The entire property is appointed with period antiques furniture, each uniquely decorated to display the charm and elegance of old world Europe.
