Visalia, California Information

Central Valley

Vacations in California's Central Valley can include a Country Western concert in Bakersfield, where Merle Haggard grew up, or the annuak Fiesta Days in Vacaville. From a Sikh Festival in Marysville, Yuba City to a parade in Tulare, you don't know what kind of fun you are missing if you don't visit the Central Valley.

Farms are the most noticable geographic attribute of this land that provides food not just for California or the U.S., but for the world. Almonds, milk, beef, cheese, peaches, cherries, tomatoes, olives, lemons and oranges are but a few of the fruits and foods that come from this rich farm belt. As you drive along Interstate 5 and other major highways that span the Central Valley, you'll see mile after mile of farming.

But that's not the only thing that a Central Valley may include (such as an ag tour), you'll also discover that Lodi and other portions of the Central Valley grow grapes and create some outstanding wines. Wine tasting makes for a wonderful vacation, indeed.

From the unique and calming historic sites, the parks, museums, and community spirit, visits to the Central Valley are quite addictive to those coming from major cities. If you need a break, be sure to sto and check out the wonderful buildings in Merced, Stockton, Fresno, and other great cities that span Central Valley.
