Shasta Cascade hotels in the dozen or so cities offering hotels in this northern California region are mostly chain hotels, plus some small, independently-owned and operated hotel properties. There are no luxury resorts and spa hotels in the area, and the quality of hotels in the various cities ranges from one to three diamond quality, with three being pretty nice, in general. As the old Automobile Club rating system is being replaced by online reviews to some extent, one thing hoteliers will confide in private is that you have to pay more to AAA for a four diamond rating. As such, most hotel owners and managers are quite content to accept the three if their property passes muster and in this region, a three, could easily equate to four we've experienced in others areas of the state such as the large cities. What makes the best hotels in this Shasta Cascade region so great are the people running them who seem quite competent, and really caring about the service and quality. While you won't have that experience across the board, we've have more than our fair share of winners in Shasta Cascade, and we tend to travel to this area on vacations more and more, simply because we've had such great luck with the hotels in the three diamond range we've booked.
