A long way from Tangier, nestled in the heart of a Southern California desert at the base of the San Jacinto Mountains, lies an unmistakable mediterranean experience a Moroccan inspired retreat, Korakia Pensione is housed in two lavishly restored historic villas, and rest on 1.5 lush acres, consisting of bungalows, guest houses, gardens and pools. With an abundance of architectual elements as well as the whisper of the mediterranean, Korakia has been internationally recognized by the Times of London as one of the top small hotels in the world. Korakia Pensione offers our guests a complimentary full breakfast every morning served on our front courtyard while beautiful music plays. We also offer complimentary yoga on saturdays and sundays. Acropolis Suite
A beautiful sunny suite with high wood beam ceilings. This large suite has a queen size built in feather bed, an open kitchenette living area. It features a large stone bathroom with a sunken bathtub and shower. French doors lead to an open private patio.
Aegeon Bungalow
This separate one-bedroom bungalow is surrounded with arched glass doors, opening to the courtyard and the Mediterranean swimming pool. It features a King bed, Japanese-style soaking tub and open shower, stone floors and a full kitchen.
Artist Studio
Winston Churchill once painted in this studio, a lovely room with high ceilings, wood floors and a large north facing window overlooking the San Jacinto Mountains, as well as a Queen four-poster bed. Comfortably furnished, this upper-level studio also has a sitting area, dining table, full kitchen, stone shower and French doors opening to a private catwalk balcony.
Casablanca Studio
This sunlit, white washed, upper-level studio offers a private balcony with views of Tahquitz Canyon and the San Jacinto Mountains. The windows overlook the pool as well as our tranquil courtyard. It also features a King bed, a kitchenette and a sweeping stone staircase.
Garden Suite
This private suite in the courtyard adobe has a Queen-size built-in bed and a large indoor/outdoor stone tub. The suite features a full kitchen, fireplace and a sitting area. The private patio offers dramatic views of the San Jacinto Mountains.
Ieogeon Bungalow
This separate one-bedroom bungalow has incredible mountain and pool views, a wood beam ceiling, built-in Queen bed, stone shower and full kitchen. The stone floored living room is surrounded by glass doors that open to the Mediterranean pool and magical night fires.
Kasbah Suite
This spacious suite opens to a view of the pool and the San Jacinto Mountains beyond. The suite features a Queen bed, fireplace, full kitchen and a dining room with French doors opening to a private patio.
Sahara Suite
Located in the courtyard adobe, this large one-bedroom suite features a handmade King bed, full kitchen, dining room and a unique wood burning stone fireplace.
Library Room
Idyllically reminiscent of days when literary discussions and chamber music filled this room, you will enjoy exploring the bookshelves filled with rare and unique books. This room features a handmade Queen-size four-poster bed, a full bath with separate dressing area and French doors that lead to a shaded patio.
Marrekesh Suite
This is a large, sunny, upper-level suite with extraordinary views of the mountains, pool and courtyard. The suite has a private stairwell, a large living room, a King bed, private balcony and full kitchen.
Mykonos Suite
A sunny, spacious suite with a Queen bed, a full stone bath, kitchen, sitting area, semi-private garden patio and a sun patio overlooking the Mediterranean pool.
Naish House
This beautiful suite is the center of J. Carroll Naish's 1930's villa. It is incredibly romantic, with high wood beam ceilings, wood burning fireplace, a full dining room, sun room, farmhouse kitchen, stone bathtub for two, a private outdoor stone shower and a Queen-size hand carved four-poster bed.
Nomad Suite
A large, bright and airy suite situated in the center of the courtyard adobe. The living room overlooks the swimming pool with views of the San Jacinto Mountains beyond. The suite offers a small private patio, a Queen bed, full kitchen and a fireplace in the living room.
Orchard House
Behind old stone walls and nestled within a grove of citrus trees is an original 1918 Palm Springs Adobe that is a compliment of open air space and privacy. This bright and airy one-bedroom house features a pivoting glass window door, a full kitchen, private dining room and two massive fireplaces. The large wraparound courtyard offers a rustic stone Jacuzzi filled by a waterfall and an outdoor fireplace. Because of extremely high demand the Orchard House is often booked months in advance, so availability is often limited. Advanced reservations with a 45 day cancellation are required.
Paxos House
A large one-bedroom suite with three beautiful patios; a semi-private patio, a sun patio and a very comfortable shaded patio overlooking the Mediterranean pool. It also features high wood beam ceilings, a Queen-size antique iron sleigh bed, a stone shower and full kitchen.
