| The scenic little town of Harmony is located on
the California Coast a few miles south of Cambria. It is made up of
historic buildings with a post office, wedding chapel, winery, pottery
shop, glass maker and several crafters and artisans.
At the turn of the 20th century, Harmony was a town of
dairy farmers who did not get along. An ongoing feud culminated in a murder
and a wake up call. They decided it was time to end the nonsense
so they called a truce. They then named the town Harmony in 1907
to reflect their intent and commitment to peaceful living.
Cattle graze on the grassy hills surrounding the town
100+ years later and the white building seen above still says "Creamery"
on it. While farms dot the fertile coast, artists are attracted to Harmony
and nearby Cambria where upscale shops sells fine art. glass items and
collectibles. |
