October is not only known for food
fests and Oktoberfest, it also is
the spooky time when California
folks celebration ghosts.
In addition, butterflies, pumpkins,
lemons and avocado treats are all
celebrated in this harvest season.
California is home to some of the
top crop production with many
fruits, vegetables and edibles
shipped around the globe.
California Fairs and Festivals
in October bring the farmers and
rural agricultural communities
out to celebrate harvests of
pumpkins, almonds, tomatoes,
apples, and all sorts of
delicious fruits and vegetables.
Corn mazes are a specialty of
these fantastic destinations,
and the size of them can be
massive, taking up to an hour to
find your way out of. Ghost
haunts, trick or treats,
Oktoberfest, Chili Cook-off,
festivals celebrating avocados,
yo-yos, scarecrows and apples
are just a few of the
imaginative events Californians
and vacationers can participate
in. While these events are
merely a sampling of what's
happening, they at least give
you some ideas to plan for and
enjoy.
