Huntington Beach--Video of
a seasonal event, Cruise of Lights, held each
December, shows several houses decorated in Huntington Beach for the boat tour
the public can purchase tickets and ride throughout this Orange County city's
Huntington Harbour. cruiseoflights.org
In the night-time video above youu'll see
several lit, decorated homes, castles and mansions decked out for the annual
Cruise of Lights in Huntington Beach, California. The Orange County / Southern
California destination features a residential harbor that each year opens its
privileged doors to the public for a peak at the magic of lights.
Christmastime is the right time to explore
this beautiful seaside harbor that included three channels and five manmade
island filled with houses.
The event is a fund-raiser for music
programs in schools. Since these types of programs were de-funded, the private
sector tries to fill the gap by raising money for kids to enjoy and experience
musical programs, performances, concerts and the joy of music.
While the money you spend on a ticket
viewing this event by riding on one of the yacht cruises is well spent, its
benefit isn't just to helping others. The ride you get is just under 1 hour, and
offers a narration about the homes, harbor and lights. Most of the boat is
covered so those chilly 55 - 65 degree nights won't be too uncomfortable. In
fact, many like to stand outside on the decks of the yachts and watch the lights
zip by in the crystal clear nights that normally greet this event.
For those who love a parade, the homes
that breeze by offer a parade of color and feast of festivity for the holiday!
