UCLA - University of California Los Angeles Bruins Men's Basketball Game, in Los Angeles, California, takes place November 01, 2015 and ends in March. This College Men's Basketball event is sponsored by UCLA Athletics Ticket Office and will be located at Pauley Pavilion.
The UCLA men's basketball team has been part of the fabric of Los Angeles for several generations, and attending one of their games is a fun experience for any resident of or visitor to California. While watching Pac-12 conference games on television is certainly enjoyable, it doesn't compare to the palpable excitement of seeing a game in person, where the amazing athletic ability of the players and buzzing energy of the fans can truly be appreciated.
The UCLA men's basketball team plays its home games at Pauley Pavilion, a legendary arena that holds just under 13,000 fans. Few college arenas have seen as much history as Pauley Pavilion and walking through its door is like entering a museum. Photos and jerseys of many of the team's great players can be found inside the arena, including such luminaries as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bill Walton, Walt Hazzard, Reggie Miller, Kiki Vandeweghe, Marques Johnson and Gail Goodrich. Of course the dean of UCLA men's basketball is the late John Wooden, whose spirit still seems to linger within the confines of Pauley Pavilion. In the 1960s and 1970s, Wooden led the Bruins to an NCAA record eleven national championships, a number that will almost certainly never be broken. He attended virtually every UCLA game after his retirement and is still revered by both fans and players. Current coach Ben Howland has continued Wooden's proud tradition, leading the Bruins to three straight Final Four appearances from 2006 to 2008.
To get the full experience of a UCLA men's basketball game, arrive early enough to take a tour of the school's beautiful campus in Westwood. Enjoy a nice lunch or dinner at the many eateries that surround the campus and be sure to buy some official UCLA gear in the school's colors of blue and gold at any of the campus stores or stands within Pauley Pavilion. Sitting next to the student section - called the Den - guarantees a raucous experience that won't soon be forgotten. Tickets can be hard to find so book early in the season or search online for ticket brokers.
