Templeton Performing Arts Center Nutcracker
Ballet
Templeton Nutcracker Ballet 2010 TBD
Templeton, California (Paso
Robles)—The twelfth annual Nutcracker ballet will be presented at
the Templeton Performing Arts Center on December 4-6 and 11-13. A
local tradition, this rendition of the holiday classic will delight
and fascinate audiences of all ages. This production brings together
the talents of professional guest artists, members of the local
community, and professional dance choreographers. Under the
direction of Cheryle Armstrong and Bob Woodard, the production
features brilliant costumes and festive sets that compliment
Tchaikovsky’s beloved musical score.
The role of the Sugarplum Fairy’s Cavalier will be performed by
guest artist Nathan Cottam, a former Principal dancer with Ballet
Theatre of Boston who studied with the famed American Ballet
Theater. Jesus Solorio, a local celebrity who competed on the third
season of television’s So You Think You Can Dance, will perform the
title role of the Nutcracker prince.
The Nutcracker is being produced by the North County Dance and
Performing Arts Foundation, and features dancers that train at Class
Act Dance Studio in Paso Robles. Members of the Paso Robles Chamber
Ballet are featured in lead roles. More than 60 local dancers and
dozens of volunteers make the production truly exquisite.
The performance on Thursday, December 3 is a dress rehearsal that is
open to students. It serves as a fundraiser for a local food bank,
since students are admitted into the performance with a canned food
item. This is a very popular event with school groups, scout troops
and other youth organizations, so reservations are necessary and one
paid adult chaperone is required for every six children.
Tickets are $20 for adults, and $15 for children under twelve and
seniors over sixty. For tickets, visit www.classactdance.com/nutcracker
or call 1-800-838-3006. Group discounts are available. For more
information, call Class Act Dance Studio at (805) 239-3668.
The North County Dance and Performing Arts Foundation (NCDPAF) is a
non-profit organization committed to continued growth and increased
awareness of dance and the performing arts within our community.
