County, Calif. – The American Red Cross of Ventura County
announces the inaugural Sherwood Concours d’ Elegance taking place
at one of Ventura County’s premier venues, Sherwood Country Club on
Saturday and Sunday, October 10-11, 2009. The two-day, action
packed event includes exciting rare and one-of-a-kind automobiles on
display. Thousands of automobile enthusiasts and car collectors
will participate. 6th Annual Clara Barton Awards, will also be
celebrated in conjunction with this event on October 10.

A special
gala dinner on Saturday evening, October 10th launches the 2-day
extravaganza and will also serve as a backdrop for the 6th Annual
Clara Barton Awards recognizing outstanding and selfless women from
throughout the region.
The Sherwood
Concours d’Elegance will include 23 classes, each with only ten cars
and judged. The event concludes with an awards ceremony, where a
panel of judges consisting of prominent public figures, notable car
collectors, athletes and leading public figures will deliver a
variety of awards including the acclaimed, Sherwood Concours d’
Elegance “Best in Show.” All proceeds will benefit the American Red

Since 1917,
the American Red Cross of Ventura County has been meeting needs
throughout the communities it serves. Each year, more than 1,200
local volunteers respond to more than 50 local disasters, teach tens
of thousands of individuals vital lifesaving skills, and support the
men and women in the U.S. Armed Forces. The American Red Cross is
not a government agency.
