San Juan Capistrano Annual Art Exhibit and Arts Sale

San Juan Capistrano, CA -- Villas and Verandas are themes of a new
exhibit, Our Land, Our People, Our Mission, featuring
painters of the past along with contemporary artists in
a captivatingly beautiful portrayal of the Mission.
Inspiring art and unique culture at Orange County's only
mission offers visitors a special show at an historical
place that holds meaning and memories. Open daily for
viewing with paid admission to Mission San Juan
Capistrano, the art exhibit is displayed at Mission's
Soldier Barracks Gallery.

Featured artists
include Jeff Sewell, Marjorie Taylor, Jason Situ, Robin
Hall, Grace Schlesier, Kevin Kibsey, Craig Pursley, Mary
Ann Ohmit, Ron Deak, and Janine Salzman. California
Impressionists and Plein-Air artists celebrate and pay
tribute to the cultural history of California and the
Mission in a body of works that offer a compelling
glimpse into the life, landscapes and cultures that
surround this honored place. Curated by Aida Ganddini
and Ron Deak, owners of San Juan Capistrano's own Villas
& Verandas Fine Art Gallery, the 5th annual "Our Land,
Our People, Our Mission" exhibition features oil
paintings from 20 artists.
Guests will be able to
purchase some of the shown paintings at the exhibit, and
a portion of proceeds from those sales are directed
toward benefitting mission preservation.
The Orange County Mission San Juan Capistrano is the
only one of
21
missions located in the county. Founded on November
1, 1776 by Padre Junipero Serra, the Mission was the
seventh in the chain established by Spain. Known as the
Jewel of the Missions, it is supported by the Mission
Preservation Foundation and is owned by the Diocese of
