San Francisco Pier 39 Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
Tree Lighting
Ceremony Mid-Nov. 2010 1-6 p.m. Pier 39
Christmas Tree Lighting is a special event
in San Francisco. Known for Fisherman's
Wharf, cable cars and the seals and sea
lions that return to Pier 39's docks each
year. Among the wharf's seasonal
holiday celebrations, you'll also discover an
annual
holiday lights boat parade visible from
Fisherman's Wharf.
But one
of the loveliest events all year long is the
Christmas Tree Lighting, which shines in the
crisp, cool San Francisco night. San
Francisco is a holiday delight.
You'll
find several tree lightings, outdoor holiday
ice rinks seasonally, plays with Christmas
themes, and of course, the famed
San
Francisco Ballet with its annual Nutcracker
ballet performances.
At Pier
39, you'll find shopping, entertainment,
boat rides, games and great dining. If you
looking for an exceptional holiday
experience, this is one of our favorite
vacations to help us escape the Southern
California malaise. And in the spring, be
sure to enjoy
Tulipmania.
Location: Beach Street & The Embarcadero, San
Francisco, CA. Cost: Free. Time: Open at 10
a.m. daily. pier39.com
