Irvine, Calif.--a 4th of July
holiday extravaganza combines Symphony and Principal Pops Conductor Richard
Kaufman, vocals by Jim Curry in a tribute to John Denver, and “Rocky
Mountain High: A 4th-of-July Celebration,” honoring the famed singer/song writer
who died in a crash of an experimental aircraft near Monterey, California. Known
for inspirational messages of care for each other and our planet, songs like
“Rocky Mountain High,” “Sunshine on My Shoulders,” “Take Me Home, Country Roads”
and “Annie’s Song,” will bring memories for some, and enjoyable melodies to
those unfamiliar with Denver's tunes.
The orchestra also will perform a moving salute to the U.S.
armed forces and a brilliant 4th-of-July fireworks finale, two traditions held
at the event each year.
Part of the Summer Concerts series, the public is invited to
purchase tickets, bring picnic baskets to dine on the grass lawns, and
participate in a memorable event under the starry evening skies at Verizon
Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine. Pacific Symphony has an awesome season planned—with five hot concerts—featuring a wide array of rich repertoire under The Symphony’s 22nd summer season's explosion of entertainment
ranges from July 4th holiday celebration to bigger-than-ever classical favorites
by Tchaikovsky and Beethoven and even some bluegrass.
Attracting more than 40,000 people each year,
season tickets range from $89-$459, with luxury season packages also
